Can I connect to private LinkedIn accounts to track performance data?
Last updated: April 20, 2026
Context
Organizations often want to track LinkedIn performance data from speakers, board members, or other individuals who represent their company through personal LinkedIn profiles. This includes monitoring performance of both promoted content/campaigns and organic posts published by these individuals on company-related topics.
Answer
The ability to connect to private LinkedIn accounts depends on the type of content you want to track:
Promoted Content/Campaigns (LinkedIn Ads)
Yes, this is possible without individual authorization. When your organization sponsors content from personal profiles (known as "Thought Leader Ads"), the performance metrics belong to your organization's Ad Account, not the personal profile. The individual's post acts as the ad creative.
You can collect this data through Adverity's existing LinkedIn Ads connector if:
The campaign is sponsored by an existing Ad Account present in your authorizations' billing objects
Your LinkedIn user has Account Manager or Campaign Manager role in LinkedIn Campaign Manager for the relevant ad accounts
Organic Content
This requires individual authorization and is not currently supported. LinkedIn strictly protects personal member data. To access organic performance data from individual profiles, each board member or speaker must explicitly grant your application permission by logging in via an OAuth 2.0 flow.
This functionality would require LinkedIn's Member Post Analytics API and is not implemented in Adverity's existing Organizations & Brands connector. An enhancement request can be submitted to the Product Team for a feasibility assessment.
